Sharing a Common Worship
Our Anglican heritage prioritizes the practices of daily prayer, weekly worship, and yearly feasts and fasts in order to form the people of God in the story of God. As we are rooted in God’s great love for us, received through Word and Sacrament, we are strengthened by grace to fulfill our calling to love God and neighbor.
Daily Prayer
For centuries, Christians have committed themselves to daily rhythms of prayer, particularly the hours of Morning and Evening prayer, to saturate our hearts and minds in Scripture, to intercede on behalf of the world, and to sanctify time by the Lord’s presence.

Weekly Worship
We are recovering the ancient practice of setting aside 1 day in 7 for the Lord, to rest from our works to rest IN the work of Christ on our behalf, together with God’s people in gathered worship. In our exhausted and overly busy world, going to church every week is a revolutionary and soul-nourishing act.
Sacramental Life
As sacrament is an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace, given by Christ as sure and certain means by which we receive that grace. The God of grace gives himself to us through common, visible, and sacred means.
Holy Communion is the chief and most frequently celebrated sacrament at Apostles, happening every Sunday as the pinnacle of our worship together.
Holy Baptism is the rite of entry into communion with God and his people. At Apostles we typically celebrate baptisms 3 times a year: The Baptism of Our Lord (in early January), Easter Sunday (in March/April), and All Saints’ Sunday (1st Sunday in November).
Confirmation/Reception/Reaffirmation is a sacramental act by which, through the Bishop’s laying on of hands and prayer for daily increase in the Holy Spirit, God strengthens the believer for Christian life in the service of Christ and his kingdom. Candidates are asked to participate in Christianity 101 (offered every Lent and Eastertide) to be confirmed on Pentecost Sunday (in May/June).
Other sacramental acts such as The Rite of Reconciliation (for assurance of forgiveness), Anointing of the Sick (for healing), Marriage, and Ordination occur less frequently, but are available as anyone has need. For more information, please contact one of our pastors.
Yearly Feasts and Fasts
As Christians we seek to order our whole year not just around the schedule of our families, or our favorite sports teams and TV shows, or our favorite cultural holidays, but chiefly around the great acts of God revealed to us in Jesus, because they tell us what is ultimately true: who God is, who we are, and what is the meaning of life.
