  • Jared Stewart - Parish Administrator/Ministry Associate

A rare fifth-generation resident of Charlotte, Jared has served local churches as a minister and in administrative roles in the Church of God and Assemblies of God denominations. More recently, before coming to Church of the Apostles, Jared embraced the beauty and rootedness of the Anglican way and became a lay member of Good Shepherd Anglican in Cornelius, where he enjoyed serving as a prayer intercessor and participating in the community of the church. He cares that people experience church to be a life-giving community where they not only find belonging to Christ and to each other but are also nourished through Scripture and common prayer, the sacraments, and the continuing work of the Holy Spirit today.

  • Ellie Moorefield - Children's Ministry Director

Ellie was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma but has been in Charlotte most of her life. Her passion for advocating for children and working in the mission field has been evident from a very young age. She has channeled these passions into mission trips to Jamaica and Mexico and working with kids as a camp counselor, soccer coach and small group leader. In 2023, Ellie graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Christian Ministry and a minor in Psychology from Montreat College. During her time at Montreat College, Ellie played collegiate soccer, was a residential assistant, led a church small group, and was on the worship team. In October of 2023, Ellie got married to her husband Matthias! Ellie loves spending time with friends, playing soccer and pickleball, hiking in the mountains, and listening to music. However, the quickest way to her heart is through a cup of coffee.

  • Sam Reckard-Perry - Interim Music Director

Sam is a native of Western North Carolina. He has been playing music since he could climb onto the piano bench by himself and began playing in church shortly thereafter. Since then, he has engaged in a variety of Christian musical expressions, from classical choirs singing in Latin to contemporary worship bands complete with drum cages. When he and his wife, Catherine, moved to Charlotte, one of Sam's prayers was to find a great church that needed more musicians. He is therefore beyond grateful for the privilege of serving in this capacity at a church he dearly loves. Sam is passionate about creating an accessible worship environment where people can commune with God.

When he's not playing music at church, you might find Sam performing his own songs at the Evening Muse, running on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway, or cooking for—and eating with—his friends, many of whom he met through Apostles. Sam also works full-time as a data analyst for Compassion International.
